Abstract
In the fifth generation (5G) of telecommunications, two fundamental parameters are given special attention: reliability and latency. To meet the demands and objectives of 5G systems, it is essential to employ new methods and make fundamental changes in the structure of transmitted packets, reducing their length. Cooperative relay networks are typically designed assuming the availability of channel state information (CSI) at network nodes. However, in practice, CSI is not always accessible. This paper examines a two-way semi-duplex relay considering small packet lengths and derives an approximate expression for the total block error rate at high SNR, assuming incomplete channel state information. Additionally, numerical results using Monte Carlo simulations are provided to confirm the analytical findings.
